Colin Berry can be heard, daily, reading the news on BBC Radio 2.

He joined the station in 1973 and the programmes he’s presented are many: Night Ride; The Late Show; Music Through Midnight; Radio Two Top Tunes; The Early Show; Band Parade; Two’s Best; Europe70/80; European Pop Jury; You and the Night and the Music; Gala Night; Happy Hour; and Hogmanay Special. Colin has also deputised for Terry Wogan, David Hamilton, John Dunn, Charlie Chester, and Steve Jones.

He began his career administrating for Granada TV/Westward TV and then Radio Caroline – he started broadcasting on the latter in 1965, newsreading and presenting sponsored programmes. For three years he worked as a freelance for Radio Medway (now BBC Radio Kent) and at the same time recorded on-air promotions for Radio 1. He was an announcer for HTV in Cardiff during the summer of 1971.

Colin was the Spokesman/Chairman of the London Jury on BBC TV’s Rising Stars, Song For Europe, and the United Kingdom for the Eurovision Song Contest. He was Commentator for Barry Humphries’ Variety Club Lunch in 1988. He’s appeared on the Generation Game and co-presented Top of The Pops. Other appearances include Wogan, Going Live, and Blankety Blank.
