Anglican chant, plainsong and organ music provided Graeme Kay’s early musical education – his father was a canon in the Scottish Episcopal Church.
Before his radio career, Graeme worked with Scottish Opera after spending 10 years in arts management. He also switched to journalism, successfully editing Classical Music, Opera Now, and BBC Music magazines.
Graeme presented over 200 weekly classical programmes for BBC Radio Solent; after repeated visits to Broadcasting House as an arts pundit, he was invited to present the Festival Music Matters programme in 1999.
He now combines his day job as classical music producer for Radio 3 Online with appearances as a presenter or contributor with Opera in Action, Morning Performance, and lebrect.live. |
