Ricky Salmon is a freelance newsreader for BBC Radio 2.
Recent voiceover clients include Invicta FM, Dee 106.3, 107.4 Swan FM, BCRfm, McDonalds, Industrial Tool Supplies, Weber SBD, Storax Racking Systems, Anglia Freight, Vertu Concierge, P M Hart Insurance, Instock Hardware, ExxonMobil, Imperial War Museum, Royal Mint, QTR Transport, Visscher Caravelle, Southampton University, Yearsley Group, Royal Navy, First Event Limousines, Didcot Power Station, World Radio Network, Central FM Spain and Generation Software.
Ricky’s career began at 103.2 Power FM/Ocean FM/South Coast Radio in Southampton where he read the news, presented music shows and tried in vain not to throw up while reporting traffic problems from the Flying Eye (earning the nickname Sicky Ramon!).
He has since presented on BBC Radio Solent, London News 97.3, and BBC Wiltshire Sound. He has also read news for Virgin Radio and TalkSPORT.
During his time at BBC Radio 5, Ricky had the dubious honour of being the announcer who closed the station down before it relaunched as BBC Five Live. |
