Doug Barron, the technical producer, is the man behind all the bells and whistles of CBC Radio’s Weekend Mornings. Doug has an extensive background in broadcasting, much of it in private radio in Halifax and South Western Ontario.

He is also known as an actor, having appeared in numerous commercials, movies and television specials, including the two part mini-series 'Trudeau'. Doug joined Weekend Mornings in the summer of 1997, working in various roles as technician, producer and even filling in as host. He has been contributing to CBC radio in general since 1978.

Yet another musician in the crowd, Doug plays drums with the 'Barbecue Kings'. He also composes music for radio and TV commercials and has several CDs of his own music.

Doug is/was also known as Hal Harbour, a handle he first picked up while co-hosting the morning show on Q104 in the mid-to-late eighties.

He was born and raised in Kitchener, Ont & schooled in Radio Broadcasting at Humber College in Toronto.

He’s worked at CFRS, CHNR, CHIC, CHUM, CJCH, C100,Q104, CFNY, SUN FM, & CBC Radio & TV.

He’s spent many years as a freelance audio & video producer producing music albums , videos and commercial ads. He’s a skilled editor, writer and character actor. But don’t take our word for it.
